This marks the first edition of the "RIZIN Otokomatsuri Series", a special series of events within RIZIN.
It is also the third time RIZIN has held an event at the Tokyo Dome.
In the main event, reigning champion Kleber Koike faced challenger Rajabali Shaydullaev, with Shaydullaev capturing the title via a first-round knockout.
The semi-final featured Mikuru Asakura, who had previously announced his retirement after a loss to Ren Hiramoto at Super RIZIN.3 in July 2024. Asakura made his return to face former featherweight champion Chihiro Suzuki, securing a TKO victory via doctor stoppage in Round 3.
The event also saw the opening round of the "RIZIN World GP 2025 Heavyweight Tournament", marking the return of a heavyweight tournament under the RIZIN banner for the first time in a decade since the organization's launch.
Originally announced under the name "THE MATCH 2", the event was set to feature a highly anticipated rematch between Ren Hiramoto and Mikuru Asakura in the main event. However, the bout was cancelled due to Hiramoto being diagnosed with traumatic shoulder instability, requiring six months of recovery.
As a result, on March 7, 2025, the event was renamed to "RIZIN Otokomatsuri".
The event also welcomed several special guests, including former RIZIN Light Heavyweight Champion Jiří Procházka, former UFC Champion Alex Pereira, and PRIDE GP 2000 Champion Mark Coleman.
Additionally, Ryan Bader appeared in the ring to announce that he will face the winner of the heavyweight tournament for the inaugural RIZIN Heavyweight Championship on New Year's Eve.
